Black Hearthscale
Synopsis
Dragons stood at the apex of the Nine Realms.
Humans, elves, giants lived alongside them until the first Dragon King rose and ushered in the Great Dragon Age. He left behind a treasure capable of making its finder their king. Torin Drekisson told that story to anyone who would listen.
He told it to his mother, to the fish he gutted, and most of all, to his sister Helga. He told it as many times as he made her promise they'd be Vikings together. They would find dragons. They would find the treasure. Together, they would become Dragon Kings.
Then the Vikings came.
He was seven.
Too young to sail.
Too young to fight.
So Torin built a rowboat instead.
