Surviving in a world that runs on mana is not easy for someone without a drop of magic.

For Finn Stradis, that’s just everyday life. Born without mana, Finn has struggled all his life with simple tasks. Despite the challenges, he’s managed to get by. But in order to thrive, there is only one path to get there: become an adventurer. 

The Kingdom of Tellus is dangerous outside of the cities; dungeons spawn in packed with monsters, and their sole instinct is to break out and slaughter everything they come across. It will be even more perilous for someone who can only use half-forgotten, non-magical medicine. Doubly so, because Tellus’s elderly king has allowed the Province of Athos’s Adventuring Guild to run rampant with corruption.

When his first dungeon dive goes wrong, Finn finds himself badly injured and bonded to a sentient sword whose origins are myth. Worst of all, the Guild uses his injury to expel him from their ranks. Cut off from their resources, Finn must team up with his father, his childhood friend, and a chaotic artificer who can’t seem to avoid explosions.

Together they’ll break the corrupt Guild’s stranglehold on the province or die trying.
