He wrote the hero. Now he has to be him.

Daniel spent a decade pouring himself into a single fantasy novel—the saga of Artorias Grifantes, the legendary mage who sealed himself away with an immortal evil to save the world. He finished the final chapter. Then his bad habits caught up with him, and he died face-down on his keyboard.

He wakes up in a crystal chamber a thousand years after his ending, inside his hero's body.

His protagonist is now a religious figure. His allies all turned into legends in their own right. His hero's baby sister died centuries ago, but her descendants have become a powerful noble family—including a blind little girl who needs a hand. And the elf he wrote into a doomed romance is still out there, waiting.

Daniel inherits the greatest mind on the continent, but that comes with memories and emotions he never expected.

And worst of all, the seeds he planted for a sequel are still out there, and they're worse than anything his hero ever faced.

Instead of writing the sequel, he will have to live it.
