The Vortex

Five people, three young men and two young women, lived different lives, each one of them with their own issues and problem. One summer day, three young men, a band returning from a gig, and one girl, Mariana, met at the bar in a small town where the band had a gig, and decided to go back to the town together. At the same day, second girl, Jasmine, was returning from a business trip accompanied by mysterious deformed man who apparently has been living for hundreds of years and appeared in her apartment one night.

They all accidentally drove onto a hidden road surrounded by woods. From the outside, and on the maps, the woods looked like a small area, but once you got in, there was no end in sight. Strange things started to happen, and strange blood thirsty creatures were appearing in the woods, threatening to kill and dismember the group. Even things that appeared harmless could kill you in this place. It was never safe, laws of physics didn’t work here, time had seemingly stopped, and the night was never-ending in this place. Cars started to lose gas, people were getting tired, hungry and apathetic. Will they ever get out?

The mysterious deformed man who traveled with Jasmine informed her that this place is the Vortex, where getting deeper and deeper lowers your chances to ever get out and the deeper you go, the slower the time flows, until it finally stops. Since the sun never got out, and unnatural forces and vicious monsters appeared around the road and in the woods, the group was forced to fight for survival and to stay as far as possible from the “Bottom” of The Vortex. Every single member of the group was challenged to face what they fear the most or what they use to escape any challenge or responsibility that life can offer them. They had to find ways to escape but at what cost? Once you enter the Vortex, you never leave as the same person you once were. Getting out has a price.
