The System Gave Everyone Superpowers

The system appeared one day and gave everyone superpowers. Not monsters and dungeons or a tutorial forcing humans to adapt or die. No. Just superpowers.

Eventually, world governments established laws and institutions around these powers to stop the anarchy and chaos while powers would be officially referred to as Blessings. This culminated in a new hierarchy forming. Those with strong powers became the new noble class while those with weak powers became the peasantry. Inequality is everywhere and justice is non existent.

However, there is one silver lining in it all. Becoming a Hero. That is the equalizer. Saving the innocent and protecting the weak. It is the dream of every idealistic fool. It is also my dream. Not for the same reasons as them though. That is simply the only way a regular person can attain power in this world. Working a job and paying taxes will only get you so far. Either that or becoming a villain which is far too much of a hassle.

That’s why I decided after getting fired from my job I would finally start the journey of becoming a Hero. It’s a long, hard, and dangerous journey (which is why I have not attempted it since now) but I no longer have anything left to lose. There’s nothing that could go wrong that hasn’t already went wrong.
