Synopsis

Can a bird that was once chained ever fly?

Felix wanted to be grown up already. But in Eratra—a small fishing village, his home, nothing more—glory doesn't exist. So he quits, says his goodbyes, and leaves.

Except he never manages to leave on his own terms.

He treks through the Rarecrean Plains, crosses the Sallow Sea, climbs into the clouds of Silea. Along the way he finds love, grief, pain, fear, anger—everything except the glory he set out for. In its place, he finds only a question:

"Do you know how to fly?"

Mira wants to be free.

The formalities. The pageantry. The thousand small cages of noble life. She's had enough of all of it, so when she refuses to marry the prince of Rarecrea, she's punished—sent east to conscript soldiers for her family's army ahead of a war already brewing on the horizon. Sent to take recruits by force, whether they come willingly or not.

Her orders lead her down the Rarecrean coast, to a small fishing village she's never heard of.

There, she finds a pair of purple eyes. Eyes that undo everything she's spent her life trying to escape.

Freedom, it turns out, never comes free.

What to expect:

A Medieval setting, dual MC's, coming of age narrative, maybe some flight, EXTREMELY limited romance, wise old 'insane' mentors, uhh and a good time, smiley face emoji :)
