The Heavens Shall Fall
Synopsis
In a world where the Gods demand tribute at every turn of the millennia, everything is about strength. Strength to gather the most valuable ingredients, be it a creature, an item, a miraculous anomaly or even… their own people.
It is why many talented prospects get ruined by impatience and greed, especially as the day of Tribute draws nearer… And it almost became the fate of Siu, too.
However, to his luck, he came under the care of a man who prepared him to be patient and wait for the right moment. And that time… His moment had finally arrived. Walking up a mountain towards his new life as a proper cultivator, he knew he could finally start his journey… and show everyone who doubted him before what real talent actually looks like.
Hey-ho, dear readers!
Welcome to my latest book, in the ongoing Cosmos series (Mad God, House of Amarin, and Steel & Mana)!
Expect chapters at the same time (CET 21:05 pm//PDT 12:05 pm//EST 03:05 pm//UTC-03 05:05 pm//AWST: 04:05 am//AEDT: 07:05 am) from Monday through Friday!
Don't worry if you haven't read any of those; they are NOT required to enjoy this story. Everything is explained in the book and in lore. You don't need any prior knowledge to enjoy it, as this is a new Realm, with new rules and new people. As for what to expect, here are some bullet points if you need a bit more to decide if it's for you or not:
- Weak to strong: The MC starts out like everyone else.
- Slow progression: I am not in a hurry, so I don't want to turn the MC into an OP character right from the get-go, even if he is considered a top prospect. I want a balance, a genius-level character who still needs to work to utilize his talents. The story is about the MC's journey from nobody to somebody. If you want instant action and intrigue, the book is not for you, because it will have a lot of buildup. This is going to be a long story, not something where there is a boss every 10 chapters.
- This is a cultivation story. I wrote one already (Mad God), and I am writing another. Expect a mix between western magic and cultivation "tropes," but I am not here to throw cliché after cliché at you.
- Omniscient narration will be my choice for this book, especially because I plan for it to be a long one.
- Expect multiple characters but one Lead. I like introducing characters who are along for the ride, friends, companions, masters, rivals, the usual. I always aim to keep them consistent, evolving, and relevant to the story, as every good MC needs a group of friends to rely on.
- No skills, LitRPG numbers, cheats, anything like that. Not even close.
- About training chapters: They won't be the norm. Yes, they are unavoidable in a cultivation story, but I am keeping them sporadic, or if they are present, making them into battles. Reading only about cultivating and whatnot is, I know, boring. I will do them when I must to establish lore, but I am not here to bore you with circulating energy back and forth for 2,000 words.
- About romance: I haven't decided yet if this is a harem story or not. There is a high chance it won't be. We will see how the initial reaction goes, who gets shipped with whom. I am someone who listens to feedback, and many characters that you may see appear were suggested by my dear readers! So, don't be afraid to comment!
