What if the Dark Lord accidentally saved the Heroine?

Milo Miles died broke and single. The afterlife bureaucracy assigned him the role of Dark Lord, giving him instant level 9999. However, he had zero useful skills and a demonic assistant who would rather dropkick him through a wall than take orders.

On his first day, Milo saved Evelisse without realizing she was the Hero he was sent to oppose. Evelisse, who has only ever been the one doing the saving, felt something she has no name for.

It would have been a small problem, except the afterlife is keeping score. If the Dark Lord does not spread fear and the Hero does not inspire hope, reality is erased. Unfortunately, the Dark Lord refuses to kill, the Hero's resolve is weakening, and they're starting to feel something they shouldn't.

Together, they may be the worst thing that could happen to the world.
