The Ashbury Convergence

by Finn Mercer Ongoing

Synopsis

Nate Vale spent seven years keeping the Ashbury from falling apart. Then the rest of the world beat it to the job.

The Convergence tears apart the city and fills the gaps with pieces of other worlds: pale grasslands beneath unfamiliar moons, a forest that swallows daylight, and creatures already testing the limits of locked doors. The System gives the survivors levels, experience, and a deadline. It does not give them instructions.

What it rewards is stranger. Killing works. So does stopping a gas leak, preserving water, or making an entrance hold. The Ashbury’s best chance may not be finding the strongest fighter. It may be learning how to turn damaged buildings, scarce tools, and frightened people into something that can last.

Nate should be useful. Keeping things working is his job. But everyone else receives one profile. He receives two, with every reward divided between them.

The worlds brought together by the Convergence were not empty. Their materials, technologies, and survivors were never meant to exist under the same sky. As the System’s phases expand, Nate and the Ashbury will have to discover what can be built from pieces that should never have fit together—and why the System is so interested in the answer.
