Synopsis
For fifteen years, the hidden sanctuary of The Rest was the only world Fre-ka ever knew. Safely tucked away and fiercely protected by her adoptive father, King, she has been kept entirely ignorant of the cutthroat kingdoms that lie beyond their borders.
But when a ruin raid goes horribly wrong, Fre-ka is left burdened with a terrible, inescapable curse.
To find a way to help his daughter, King is forced to take her out of hiding and into the unforgiving cities he swore to leave behind.
Thrust into a harsh society where every stranger is a potential threat, Fre-ka quickly learns just how dangerous the outside world truly is.
