System Null

On his eighteenth birthday, Kai Voss gets the one designation nobody survives with their ambitions intact.

Null.

Not a class. Not a power. A System error — the designation given to one in a hundred thousand, meaning no skills, no stat growth, no future in a world restructured around the System's hierarchy. His friends get Rare and Uncommon classes. His rivals get Battle Mage. Kai gets a blank panel and the quiet certainty that everything he prepared for is gone.

He refuses to accept it.

What Kai discovers, in the training halls and the dungeons and the deadly corners of grade-S Rifts that no rational person at Level 0 should survive, is that Null class isn't broken. It's been waiting. Passively absorbing skill essence from every ability used around him, building power in secret, advancing through Milestones the System refuses to document. The System doesn't know how to register what he's becoming — because Null class wasn't designed to be controlled. It was designed to be a key.

But the System is paying attention now.
