Rebirth of Chimera
Synopsis
Darien Vortigern could win any war placed before him.
What he could not do was build a world that would survive without him.
Executed after a lifetime of victories, Darien awakens one year later in the body of Ren Ardent, an eight-year-old boy in a kingdom that was once his enemy. For the first time, he is given something he never allowed himself to have: a father, a home, and a life beyond orders and battlefields.
He intends to keep it.
But Vaelcrest is already preparing for war. Conscription is unavoidable, its military academy is gathering the next generation of officers, and the failures of nobles, commanders, and institutions are beginning to surface around him.
When ordinary lives are threatened before his eyes, Ren is forced to become Darien once more.
This time, however, he refuses to be merely a general.
Wars are not won by powerful warriors alone. They are sustained by farmers, smiths, healers, merchants, laborers, spies, and countless decisions made far from the battlefield. A single brilliant victory means little if the kingdom behind it is already collapsing.
As old enemies return and the forgotten Chimera unit is drawn back into the world, Ren must learn whether a man shaped entirely by war can protect a nation without losing his humanity again.
Because victory is never one perfect plan.
It is a chain of small decisions—and the price of every mistake is paid by the people.
