Jenadar and The Pearls of Dratha

Jenadar has survived monsters, deserts, and the Ruby Guard.

He's not sure which was worse.

Years ago, he managed to buy his freedom from the Ruby Guard. The catch? They still own him until every last coin of his debt is repaid. Every year they come to collect. Every year he somehow finds the money.

He gambled it away.

With time running out, Jenadar takes what should be the easiest job of his career: steal the legendary Pearls of Dratha.

Instead, he finds himself chased across Gledwelk by killers, tangled in the schemes of powerful nobles, and searching for answers that everyone else seems willing to kill to keep buried.

His only constant companion is Deradill, one of the legendary Singing Swords. Deadly in a fight, insufferable in conversation, and absolutely convinced every song he writes is a masterpiece.

If Jenadar wants to keep his freedom, he'll have to survive long enough to get paid.

That is, assuming the pearls don't kill him first.
