I Can't Fucking Read
Synopsis
Linus Windsor never learned to read. Not because he couldn't — because he refused, out of pure teenage spite, and never looked back. Then he died, and got drafted into an afterlife reality show where surviving contestants are turned into content, comedy, and eventually, corporate assets.
His class — Audiobook Barbarian — broadcasts his private thoughts aloud whenever he loses his temper, which is often. His magic comes from imagination made physical: illusions that talk, that fight, that occasionally cost him an arm. He can't read a single spellbook, quest marker, or system prompt in front of him. What he can do is build an entire functioning life around that refusal — an emoji-based messaging system, a puppet who reads for him, a found family who translate the world into something he can survive.
It's a comedy. It's also, underneath every joke, a book about what people owe each other when the world keeps handing them reasons to stop caring — and about the difference between the jokes that protect you and the ones that finally let someone in.
