Humans mastered fire and electricity, why not time? With the advent of AI to speed the process along, time travel is not really a question of if but when.

When was a great question. As in when was he right now? He had just been doing his job deep in a lab in Huntsville, and then squatting in a hot, humid, and painfully bright Alabama field. That gross, cold bucket of "Oh, NO!" washed through him when he looked around. There was only one reason he would suddenly be outside right now, and it was worst case scenario. "Well, we were successful in creating the time machine." He needed to throw up.
