Welcome to the Department of Anomalous Research (and Obligatory Documentation), where the world-ending anomalies are terrifying, the paperwork is endless, and the department's funding is just a suggestion at best.

When former Army Field Medic Fig finds out that his post-military job as a mall cop was really just a 20-year temporal time loop in a soul-crushing liminal space that would eventually consume his soul (been there, done that...), he has to rejoin a world that left him for dead, pick up the scattered pieces of his life, help study and analyze strange phenomena, and work alongside even stranger people.
