The goal of all cultivators is strength and its endless pursuit. Be it power for the sake of power, the want to rule over the world or destroy it, or to defy the heavens and ascend into the realm beyond. Regardless of the reason, it takes a unique will and talent to reach such greatness. At least, it used to. Before The System arrived. Some assume it was the gods themselves who forged it as a gift to the mortal world. Others believe it was something greater that gave the world the gift. Regardless, only a select few are granted access.

Xai Faung may not aspire to ascend, nor rule the world and have his name known by even the most isolated of villages. But through years of training, he has been granted the System as a member of the Silver Mist Sect. For only a brief moment he expected this to be a turning point in his suffering. But fate is seldom so forgiving. When Xai's past comes knocking with more power than he possesses, he is going to need every trick cultivation and the system can grant him to not be plunged into his past and forced to face it.
