My Heart Won't Beat On Its Own

 I know what you're doing. It's a miracle.

Your heart is beating, your lungs are pumping. You just blinked now didn't you?

100,000 heartbeats a day. 20,000 breaths. 15,000 blinks. All done without a single thought.

The Living Death virus will change all that.

It starts with the flu. You feel a tingle in the back of your neck. It feels like something is crawling inside you, some swear they hear something speak to them.

Then your chest hurts. You think you're having a heart attack. You stop breathing. You think you're suffocating. But it's so much worse than that.

Your body forgot to live. Your nervous system has shut down. You are the replacement. There is no sleep, there is no rest for you. Only the next breath, the next heartbeat. All the while that thing you felt crawling inside completely takes over as your body becomes a prison of flesh.
