Synopsis

Fourteen-year-old Chre grew up in farm country, dreaming of steel-toed boots and meteor showers. When the occupation's forces descend on her family's home in the dead of night, Chre is left with nothing but a rifle, a bug-out plan her father drilled into her for years, and her five-year-old brother Max.

Now Chre must lead Max hundreds of miles across an occupied country to a safe haven with no way of knowing what she'll find when they arrive. Every waypoint brings a new kind of danger the pair must navigate, leaving her to wonder how much of herself she will lose to get there.

This is a story about loss, survival, grit, and struggling to grow up because your little brother's life depends on it.
