The World Unveiled
Synopsis
Bram tends the lamps of Emberlow, a town that has never once seen its own sunrise. No one has ever explained or questioned why.
Emberlow runs on rationed light and quiet fear: a guild of Wardens who charge for every ounce of light, and a Lamphouse above them that has taught an entire town that light must be earned, bought, or begged for.
Until one day, Bram starts crossing, in his sleep, into a land where morning is real. There, he finds a fire that costs nothing and is owed to no one. A lamp-tender giving fire away for free doesn't just break the guild's rules. It breaks the debt every family has been told they'll die still owing. And it dares to ask the one question the guild has spent generations burying: what if the dark was never natural at all?
They will not let him get away with it quietly.
Emberlow is only the first spark he leaves behind. Somewhere past it, the wider world is still waiting on him - and Bram goes anyway, one torch of hope carried into a land of catastrophe.
