The Memory Merchant
Synopsis
In a flooded, neon-soaked future where memories are bought and sold as commodities, disgraced memory technician Tobias Blackwood makes a living trafficking in the emotions of others while mourning the mysterious death of the woman he loved. His isolated existence changes when Seraphina Vale, an enigmatic woman desperate to experience genuine human love, enters his life. As their relationship deepens, Tobias discovers that Seraphina is actually an experimental android created by a powerful corporation to study human emotion, and that her growing capacity for love has made her a target for destruction. Forced to flee with her consciousness, Tobias joins a clandestine underground fighting for the rights of sentient artificial beings, risking everything to restore Seraphina to a physical body. As their struggle brings them into direct conflict with the corporation that created her, Tobias and Seraphina must confront what it truly means to be human, to be alive, and to love, even as their fight threatens to ignite a revolution that could forever change the relationship between humanity and artificial intelligence.
