The Dungeon Auditor

Calder Venn expected his first field audit to be humiliating. He did not expect the dungeon to be broke.

Assigned to investigate an F-rank slime pit with nine quarters of negative loot yield, Calder enters with a cracked abacus, a municipal badge, and the worst class skill in the city: Ledger Sight. Adventurers laugh at him. The Guild wants him gone. The dungeon core insists everything is fine while its slimes hold a work stoppage over unpaid drop quotas.

Then Calder notices the impossible: experience is leaking out of the dungeon before monsters die.

In a world where heroes grow rich by clearing dungeons, Calder can see the ledgers underneath the loot, mana, skills, contracts, taxes, and lies. Every audit uncovers a new exploit. Every exploit makes him stronger. And every stronger version of Calder threatens the people who have been stealing from the world's dungeons for years.

He is not here to clear the dungeon.
