Fate's Forgotten

Synopsis: In a distant space faring future where Kaijus dig for planetary cores and hunters use mana powered spells to fight back, Damon Silas is convinced he is destined to be a hunter. Left a complicated legacy by his late father, Damon dreams of fighting towering monsters and saving countless lives. He has studied for it, trained for it, and fought for it. When tested for mana compatibility however, he is found wanting. It seems fate has other plans for him than his dreams. Well fate can shove it. If Damon has to take matters into his own hands than so be it! With an illegal secret and a pathetically small mana pool but an unrivaled drive to improve, Damon eagerly boards the train to the Perillax hunter academy.

Naomi Arthuris never wanted to be a hunter at all. Her whole family, from her legendary mother to her prodigal brothers to her mythical uncle all have shadows so wide that Naomi wanted nothing more than to avoid them entirely. Unfortunately, for her too, it seems that fate has other plans. Not only is she a hunter, but she has the largest natural mana pool in recorded history, and the largest expectations to go along with it. Well fate can shove it. With an unrivaled determination to scrape by with the bare minimum of effort and leave hunting behind the second she graduates, Naomi reluctantly boards the train to the Perillax hunter academy.

These two young dreamers, forgotten by fate and yet taking their lives into their tightly clenched fists, will have to face the perils of Perillax academy together, or they may not live to see graduation.
