The Lost Scrap
Synopsis
"They don't remember who they were. They only know how they thought."
Fourteen minds awaken in the Garden of Copies—a surreal realm of broken columns and philosophical labyrinths, ruled by an enigmatic Curator who feeds them questions instead of food. They are excellent copies, but they have no past. No history. No memory of the lives they once lived.
As they navigate exhibitions designed to strip away their illusions—the Theater of Last Words, the Hall of Echoes, the Corridor of Irreversible Decisions—they begin to uncover fragments of a terrible truth: they are not accidents. They are the unwitting fragments of a divine punishment inflicted upon a Weaver who once stole a piece of reality to create the Curator himself.
But the Garden is not alone. Beyond its borders lies the City of Actors—another collection of copies, ruled by a Producer who forces them to perform roles they don't remember learning. When both domains fuse, the copies must confront the full weight of their origins, their fractured identities, and the devastating consequences of the Weaver's ancient crime.
Some will break. Some will transform. And some will discover that the only way to become whole is to reclaim what was never truly lost.
The Lost Scrap is a philosophical psychological fantasy about identity, memory, and the cost of creation. For readers who loved Piranesi, The Library at Mount Char, or House of Leaves.
