TRIDEVA: The Storm Between Worlds
Synopsis
Sanket Rai was nobody. A shipping clerk in Mumbai, twenty-four years old, unremarkable by every measure a city keeps — until the night he ran toward a dying child instead of away from her, and paid for it with his life.
He should have ended there. Most stories like his do.
Instead, his soul crosses into Antariksha, the raw space between finished worlds — and for the first time in three thousand years, the Trimurti themselves take notice of a single human soul. Brahma sees a mind worth sharpening. Vishnu sees a heart worth protecting. Shiva sees a will that hasn't broken yet. Unable to agree on what he's worth, the three make a wager instead, and each leaves him with a piece of themselves: the Architect's Eye, to read the hidden grammar of magic; a seed of the Sudarshana, to defend what matters; and the Ember of a Third Eye that should never, under any circumstances, be allowed to fully open.
Then they drop him into a world that has been getting along fine without gods for three thousand years — and has no idea what to do with one that's just arrived wearing a human face.
Sanket wakes with no name, no family, and no explanation, enrolled as a transfer student at Sindhu Academy — the weakest, most overlooked of the Ten Great Houses, descended from a king who barely mattered in the war that built this world's entire power system. It's the one place strong enough hands haven't already claimed him. It won't stay that way for long.
Because Sanket's arrival isn't happening in a vacuum. Three thousand years ago, ten kings chosen by ten gods fought a war that tore the veil between heaven and earth and left the world soaked in magic. A thousand years after that, this world's own Rama and Krishna fought a second war so devastating the gods swore never to interfere again — leaving behind only weapons, bloodlines, and legends for humanity to grow into on its own. Sanket didn't come from any of that history. He's the first thing to enter this world from outside it since the gods themselves went silent — and every old, sleeping thing that history left behind is starting, slowly, to notice him too.
Under the reluctant guidance of Acharya Bhargav — a one-armed war veteran hiding from his own legend in a school nobody respects — Sanket has to learn to survive gifts that don't work like power fantasies promise, in a body still catching up to a mind that already died once and came back changed. He'll cross blades with heirs of the old Ten Kings, wake ancient weapons that were never meant to react to an outsider, and be pulled, piece by piece, into a modern war that the ancient one never actually finished — one where Indra's own thunderbolt has already decided Sanket is the threat old prophecy warned about, long before Indra ever deigns to say so himself.
He isn't the strongest person in this world. He isn't even supposed to exist in it.
But there is an old warrior's code that says mercy is for those who still seek redemption — and that those who choose cruelty, knowing better, have already passed judgment on themselves. Sanket didn't ask to carry three gods' fire into a world built to run without them. He's going to carry it anyway.
Because some doors only open once — and he already proved, on a rainy overpass in another world entirely, exactly what kind of man walks through them.
