Synopsis

A couple months ago I got pulled into some nerdy videogame world with a few other people from Earth, most of whom were way to happy and eager to tell me about how amazing our lives were about to be. Some of them learned 'magic' and all of us got pulled into some petty peasant rebellion that probably ended badly; I have to assume 'cause I got killed over there on the third skirmish. Surprise surprise, I woke up back on Earth, near as I can tell, but in a body that looks nothing like my last two in a place way far from anyone I know and with magic powers from that last place lingering, and apparently a few different groups having magic people on watch for people like me coming back from different worlds ready to instantly kill us. So this must happen more-frequently than I'd heard about. Oh, also, I have a prophecy about incoming destruction of Earth and the task of finding and helping the people here who may prevent it, which seems kinda like a bad idea from everything I remember about Earth and where we were headed when I left.

I was a horrible student, a bad daughter, a worse sister, and apparently my whole polycule I was desperate to get back to is doing way better without me and the boyfriend I brought into the mix, who they dumped as soon as I was gone more than a few weeks. So, yeah. Really kinda wishing I'd stayed in fantasy nerdland and not quite sure how I feel about trying to save this planet, but I figure the quicker I can pass that off the less I have to worry.

It's not like anyone'd actually try to make someone like *me* a hero.
