A Demon’s Heart

In a hierarchical world where Fallen Angels who have defied their gods rule over the earth, bloodlust and supremacy consume the lives of the beings beneath them. Humans and demons alike. What happens when a listless dark angel confronts the heart of an isolated demon woman? The very creature his dark angel society has taught him to exploit?

I stood up as he ordered, "I can't grant you that wish. I only want you to disappear and leave me unharmed." I said rather courageously. He could kill me if he wanted to! But it'd be nice if I could end this encounter as painlessly as possible. I can't help but shamelessly desire that even in the face of such extreme odds. 

He smirked. "Cute and bold, eh?" He looked up at the house. "And what of the rest of them?"
I held my breath. He knows!
I kept my mouth shut.

"So?" He pushed. 

"You're not getting any of our blood!" I stood my ground with the ounce of bravery I could muster, however, it may have been my fatigue talking.  

"Hmm, I want more than just your blood now.." He took a step closer. 

Before I could react, the baby began to wake. And once she woke, her loud cry followed.
