Synopsis

More than a millennium ago, the world broke.

The Shattering split the earth into eight great continents, each now held aloft by the pillars beneath it. Vast landmasses drifting above an unlit expanse that no one living has ever seen the bottom of. Civilization rebuilt itself on these continents: inner city for the elite, wall cities for the fortunate, outer cities for the striving, and crumbling, forsaken orbital cities for everyone else. What determines which one you're destined for, and which one you might climb toward, is a blessing: a power granted at birth, ranked, tested, and used to sort every child into their place before they're old enough to understand what's being decided for them.

Rei's blessing can sense and lead him out of dangerous situations. He had thought it was like having an extra instinct. But he begins to learn it is so much more.
