Synopsis

Luca Reinhardt had always considered himself fortunate. With loyal friends, strong grades, and admission to his dream university, his future seemed brighter than ever. Yet beneath the excitement of a new beginning lingered an unshakable feeling that something was wrong.

Soon after arriving on campus, one of his friends mysteriously disappeared after suffering a violent fever and an unbearable weight on his chest. Luca dismissed it as a tragic illness—until he woke up with the exact same symptoms. His roommate wasn't spared either.

The sickness was never a sickness.

It was an awakening.

Under the guidance of Akyori Shinn, the self-proclaimed strongest Manifestor of the modern era, and his dependable yet unexpectedly comedic colleague Daigo Kagetsu, Luca discovers the existence of Axon Manifestation—the physical embodiment of human consciousness, where the soul itself is forged into power. The students who had disappeared before him had never vanished at all; they had awakened to the same hidden world.

Legends speak of heroes who wield supernatural abilities to protect humanity. Reality is far less noble. Manifestors exist not to save lives, but to fight an endless secret war. For centuries, two factions—the Stars of Transfiguration and Those Born of Void—have battled across generations, their original purpose long forgotten beneath bloodshed.

Unlike most Manifestors, Luca awakens as a Summoner, capable of calling mysterious beings known as Iteri. Instead of praise, however, his power is met with uneasy silence. Whenever he asks about Summoners or Akyori's past, his mentor refuses to answer, forcing Luca to question how much of the truth has been hidden from him.

Elsewhere, Pagonn, a minor priest and ambitious commander of The Stars of Transfiguration, sees the ancient new recruits as his chance to rise through the ranks and a means to open a diplomatic channel to the two strongest manifestors. His latest mission is to capture a dying star before anyone else can.

What was meant to be the beginning of Luca's university life becomes the beginning of a hidden war that has been waiting for him all along.
