The Pharmacist They Didn't Mean to Summon

One second I'm on the phone with my friend, mid-rant about our lab's budget cuts. The next, I'm lying on a stone floor with a green light fading off my skin, surrounded by three strangers who just finished a summoning ritual.

Turns out they were trying to fix the husband's little "problem" down there. Turns out they got me instead.

I don't have a sword. I don't have magic. What I've got is a decent grasp of chemistry, an unfinished project on Annexin A2 inhibitors, and absolutely no idea how to survive in a world with murder wasps, shapeshifting wolf-people, and a medical system that still thinks bloodletting counts as innovation.

They wanted a healer. Instead they got a guy who diagnoses allergies by asking about pets, synthesizes aspirin out of tree bark, and won't shut up about invisible parasites that nobody can see and everybody insists don't exist.

Being right doesn't automatically mean people believe you. Especially when you're the weird human from another world going on about "germs" like it's some kind of witchcraft.

I've got a stethoscope made of animal horn, a growing reputation as "that one weird doctor," and a burning desire to go home that nobody here seems interested in helping with.

They didn't mean to summon me. I definitely didn't mean to become their only competent doctor.

What to Expect:
A protagonist who solves problems with deduction, chemistry, and actual medical logic, not magic

Dry, sarcastic humor and a narrator who complains a lot but still gets the job done

A slow build of reputation, from "weird outsider" to "the guy who actually knows what he's doing"

What Not to Expect:
Overpowered fantasy protagonist with hidden combat skills or secret bloodline

Epic quests, world-ending prophecies, or chosen-one plotlines

Fast-paced action or dungeon-crawling

A protagonist obsessed with gaining levels, stats, or power for its own sake

Instant acceptance or belief from the world around him, trust is earned slowly and reluctantly
