I Recruit bosses I Defeat [LITRPG][Mystery][Fantasy]
Synopsis
The world ended quietly. No fire, no invasion, just a system that switched on one morning and started handing out levels, dungeons, and monsters like the planet had always been a game underneath.
Kade never wanted to be a hunter. He wanted to survive long enough for the system to make sense. Then a boss he had no business fighting stopped mid kill to speak, and the notification that followed wasn't a death screen. It was a choice nobody had ever shown him before: Finish, or Recruit.
He chooses recruit. And discovers that every monster he's been taught to kill on sight is something the system built, used, and threw away, a discarded draft of a person, waiting in the dark for someone to decide it's worth keeping instead of clearing.
Now Kade is building something the system was never supposed to allow: a bonded team of partners who grow, evolve, and choose to fight beside him instead of being commanded to. But recruiting them makes him a flaw in the design, and the system doesn't leave its mistakes running for long. Somewhere out there, a "finished" version of him already exists, built without the one thing that makes him dangerous to it: the willingness to care about something instead of discarding it.
To survive, Kade has to out-bond the very thing built to replace him, one partner, one impossible choice at a time.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
MC starts weak and stays mortal for a long time. No overnight power spike, strength comes from partners and bonds, not solo grinding.
Progression is real but partner-focused. The MC's own combat growth is slower than you'd expect from LitRPG, his team carries a lot of the power curve.
Fast paced. Chapters are short, dense, and move quickly, no long filler stretches between plot beats.
Frequent cliffhangers, and they are meant to hurt. If you like being left on a gut punch every chapter, this delivers.
No harem. Relationships that exist are grounded, not the focus of the story.
Death and loss are on the table, including for named partners. Bonds carry real risk.
Dark themes under a fast paced surface, discarded people, identity, being replaced, but told through action and adventure rather than slow introspection.
Mystery box story. Big questions get answered on schedule, not stalled indefinitely, and each answer opens the next one instead of dragging out one single reveal for dozens of chapters.
Arcs shift tone and setting. Expect the world to expand outward rather than staying in one location or one villain for the whole story.
