The Accidental God of Rot

The System didn’t choose a hero. It chose a corpse.

Kaelen was never meant to survive the ritual at the Altar of Rot. A low-born initiate, he was nothing more than a sacrificial vessel meant to herald the return of a forgotten god. But when the divine essence poured into his body, something went terribly wrong.

Now branded with an impossible skill. Kaelen gains power in a way no one should. He doesn’t grow stronger through faith or noble deeds. Instead, he harvests the memories, skills, and fragments of the souls of the dead. With every soul he absorbs, he loses another piece of himself.

In a dying empire where immortal nobles sustain their power by draining the powers of lesser mages, Kaelen must hunt those who condemned him to death. But as the voices in his mind multiply, the line between vengeance and madness grows ever thinner.

Worse still, he discovers a truth no one else can see: the gods are parasitic monsters, and the System is nothing more than a prison designed to keep humanity obedient.

To shatter it, Kaelen must ascend to godhood—not through virtue, but by piecing himself together from the broken remnants of everyone who sought to destroy him.
