The Great Overthrow [A Souls-like LitRPG]
Synopsis
One hundred years of absolute tyranny. Five fallen kingdoms. One infinite destination.
A century ago, the world changed forever. A brutal, overwhelming force executed a catastrophic coup, seizing absolute control over the Five Kingdoms and crushing the old order under an iron fist. For a hundred years, the usurpers have ruled unchallenged, burying the history of the realm in ash.
But in the deepest shadows, a Secret Alliance has formed. Elite members from the original five kingdoms have chosen specific individuals for reasons hidden from the world. A player never chooses their destiny—if you are chosen, you must march forward or die. Equipped with a mysterious magic book that governs the laws of their evolution, player class, and abilities, these players are forcefully deployed into the occupied realms.
Each player carries a unique, mandatory mission. They must navigate a grueling, unpredictable journey through a world ruled by manipulation, deep-seated conspiracies, and hidden dangers. Surrounded by nightmarish monsters, lethal bosses, unexpected twists, and companions of convenience, their paths will take them from the randomized chaos of the Great Land, through the five conquered kingdoms, all the way to the golden, majestic Capital—home to the Infinite Tower, the most powerful, magical, and terrifying enigma in existence.
In this souls-like, grimdark, progressive fantasy LitRPG, our main character is the Vagabond.
