The Institute - A Collection of Stories
Synopsis
The Institute of Genetic Science and Molecular Engineering, under the direction of Kimberly Parsons, is a research facility of sorts beyond the bounds Pel'Drissia, the Shining City. No one could say, exactly, what they do, but they're government funded, and backed by many politicians.
You, of course, know what that means.
Our characters are test subjects of this Institute, grown from tubes and granted two things: arcane abilities, and what could charitably be called a home. At Kimberly Parsons' direction, our subjects have their arcane abilities... "gently" tested and researched. This, unsurprisingly, does not go over well with them. They hatch a plan to escape, and hare-brained though it may be, our subjects are powerful. Ironic, isn't it? That their escape could only be purchased using currency minted by their captors?
Regardless, they've survived and escaped to Pel'Drissia. Some made it easily, others not so much. And now, it is up to them to learn how to exist in a city that doesn't believe they should.
You will not find a detailed account of the subjects' lives here. You will find flashes; moments in time that deserve special recognition. The characters live on, whether you read their stories or not.
Embark on the journey, live with the characters, and they will show you who they are through the tears they shed and the bleeding they've done.
