Silver and Gold
Synopsis
The Kingdom of Sahnbrad is a dark place.
Its forests crawl with monsters. Its nights are haunted by great horrors. The unhallowed dead rise against the living with no provocation. Its towns and villages serve as defiant points of light in the darkness, hardy people united by their God and their Church.
Sara was nobody. The daughter of a fisherman, caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, cursed and taken into the Church to serve under Inquisitor Gael. The Inquisitor was a beacon of justice to the Kingdom, but overconfidence had been his downfall. A hunt gone terribly awry left him stricken and weakened by an indelible hex.
The frail Inquisitor and his inexperienced bodyguard are now bound by holy duty. The world calls for their aid, and they rise to the challenge.
Silver and Gold is a slow-burning semi-episodic adventure story, set in a Georgian-era dark fantasy world. It's a low-magic setting where gods make their presence felt, but it's mortals that bring about triumph through grit, smarts and heroic ideals.
Featuring character interactions, a fair amount of worldbuilding, and plenty of monster slaying.
The target word count per chapter is 3500-5500, except for the first couple chapters.
