The day Matteo killed his stepfather, a red fire woke up in his chest.

they call it the Rush. It makes him strong enough to punch through walls, but it screams in his veins, burns his nerves, and begs him to destroy everything around him. It’s not a super power. It’s a hostage situation.

Forced into the HCA(Hero Control Agency) Matteo is shoved into a dysfunctional team of damaged goods. There’s Deepslate, a dense unbreakable tank of a man who is tired of fighting. The Mingler, a flying joke who uses humor to hide his scars. Capped, a kid in his twenties who actually believes in doing the right thing. 

But the agency is a lie, and the man running it treats people like chess pieces.

When Matteo’s dead best friend returns from the grave as a psychic hive-mind god offering a world without pain, and an apocalyptic monster named Frig is unleashed to clean up the mess, the team is thrown into a war they weren’t meant to survive.

To save his city, Matteo will have to figure out how to be a hero when the power inside of him just wants to be a bomb.

RUSH is a dark, cinematic, episode superhero serial. It’s about trauma, power, and what happens to the people who get crushed in between the two
