Graves of Blackwood
Synopsis
I guess that there is no need for titles or any pleasantries anymore.
This is my will and if you are reading this then I am probably dead.
I will start from the beginning. My name is Graves, James Blackwood. The son of Louise Blackwood and Evelyn Blackwood. The oldest son of the Blackwood dutchy yet the least talented one at that… But that is not the only name I was given. You may think that I am lying when I write this but as of now my body is home to two souls. They have merged and made me the Graves that you know so be at ease, that is not the reason for my death or absence. The other me has come here from a different… more mundane place yet his… or my knowledge has helped me to understand and acclimate to the circumstances of this place.
If this note finds you in my death, that means that in the end, with all the knowledge and privileges granted to me, I wasn’t the one fortunate enough to help you save this beautiful world from the patient darkness waiting patiently to consume it.
Don’t be sad for me. Don’t cry because I'm gone.
I’ve left some journals in my apartment at the Andarius academy, shared them with the headmaster and informed James Dale of their existence. If I'm gone then James is your best bet at defeating the Seven horned sovereign and the Sanguine prince.
To my beloved friends and family. You were the light of my life. Live peacefully with the knowledge that I am watching over you.
Hope I don’t meet you in the afterlife too soon.
Your friend, Graves.
“Sigh.”
Graves closed the journal as he slipped the stamped last will into a neat envelope.
It was right to write the last will but it still made him a little nostalgic and sad.
“It’s time to train.”
Graves stood up, grabbed his sword and shield. Jastra followed suit.
…
Hello dear reader. As an author I am incredibly flattered that you have chosen to use some of your time to read my story.
General info:
A chapter three times a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
About 5k or more characters per chapter.
What to expect in this story:
A very weak MC that works hard to catch up to the world and his allies.
The world is gritty and bloody. Expect fights to be gory.
There is a status but it’s not unique to the mc. Every creature in my world has access to the status and it’s there to show progress. I will not spam the chapters with status windows, expect them to show up every couple of chapters at most.
The world is a medieval society that was quickly uplifted by the technology claimed in wars and repurposed for their use. Expect cars fueled by magic, trains or even occasional planes but no widespread guns, mechas, fighter jets or anything of this sort.
I’m a Dungeon Master that has run campaigns in D&D 5e for the last 10 years. I love the system so expect some inspiration.
There will be occasional Pov changes but most of the story will be told in 3rd person.
Mc won’t be all knowing and most of his knowledge will become obsolete due to changes and butterfly effect so if that frustrates you please be patient.
There will be a romantic subplot with multiple possible love interests but do not expect a harem.
