Path Beneath Heaven
Synopsis
Beneath a dying sky, an old cultivator reaches the end of a life spent watching others chase the throne of Sovereign. He had never believed in that road. To him, the world’s so-called Paths were chains disguised as destiny, and those who pursued them were prisoners of their own Bloomed Fields. Yet as heaven thins and the horizon begins to collapse, he realizes that standing aside was not freedom. It was only another way of obeying the road.
At the final dusk, a mysterious spirit activates a formation powerful enough to fold body, Field, Zi, and memory into a single point. The old man awakens in the body of Wu Ji, the unfavored tenth son of a sect elder in the Blazing Verdant Sect, just before the Blooming Ritual that will determine the shape of his second life.
In this world, a person’s Field decides their future. A clean Bloom opens the road of cultivation. A weak Bloom condemns one to obscurity. But Wu Ji carries the memory of five centuries and knowledge most sects have never questioned. He knows a Field does not simply reveal fate—it responds to pressure. And if pressure can reveal a Field, then pressure can also be shaped.
Weak, injured, and overlooked, Wu Ji must survive in a sect ruled by talent, lineage, and silent cruelty. To the elders, he is a failed seed. To his siblings, he is a convenient target. But beneath his ordinary Bloom, Wu Ji begins building a foundation no doctrine can name.
For heaven permits only one Sovereign. Wu Ji does not intend to follow heaven’s road. He intends to find the path beneath it.
