Patch Notes for the End of the World
Synopsis
Aaron Kessler read logs for a living. The dashboards on his floor said every server was healthy. The logs underneath said otherwise, and after ten years he trusted the logs.
Then the System arrived and integrated Earth. It measured every person alive and handed each one a Class. Aaron's came back as NULL_OPERATOR, status unhandled. The System had no template for him, and no clean way to delete a conscious account it couldn't classify.
Instead it left him with access. Aaron can see the log layer running under the new rules, the way he always saw it under the old ones. He can read the code the world runs on now, and he can change it, if he pays for the edit in levels and blood. Lower a monster's stats before it swings. Undo a death that already happened.
The problem with being the error the System can't close is that it keeps trying to close it.
