Lion's Blood

In the world of San'Sara intelligent beasts stand at the apex. 

Ko'Eri, the land of the Feline Clans, is in the midst of another civil war. The emperor of the Tiger Clan, and the pharaohs of the Lion Clan trade blows. 

Princes Mazin and Zaki, twins of the lion clan have come of age. Zaki, ever the golden standard and awe of the people is eager to prove himself worthy of the throne. Mazin, the shadow of his brother, has his eyes set beyond the confines of Ko'Eri. Prejudice forces him north while his brother travels south. Both learn that life outside of the capital is more complicated than they thought. 

Pharaoh Nadiyya Aten, a street urchin in her youth now sits on the Lion throne, prepares herself for more changes to her life. After near two decades of motherhood, her sons go out into the world despite her best efforts. Her husband grows increasingly distant and neglectful, and the civil war worsens to its bloodiest since before her boys were born. The fighting days she left behind call to her again. 

The emperor has made his move after years of quiet and the Lions are forced to act. Old enemies arise from the chaos and betrayals hamper all. On the horizon comes the ending of the civil war, but its ending will only begin the trouble coming for all Feline Clans.
