Demigod Dragon of Water, book setting
Synopsis
After office worker Dexter Thompson is murdered, he's reincarnated into the Great Silver Forest as Ryujin Kai, a thousand-year-old anthro Eastern Dragon demigod whose maxed-out power is leashed by a "Training Wheel Mode." Craving a quiet life, Kai is unnerved when villagers worship him, and he must obey three Demigod Rules to avoid triggering natural disasters.
Rescuing the kobold chief Arlo and purifying a direwolf pack into loyal beastmen, Kai founds Ryujin City, then recruits exiled dwarven artisans led by Oda Iron-Sigh. When a cloaked figure curses the Orc Lord into a rampage, Kai absorbs his sins, freeing the orcs and evolving allied lizardmen into dragonewts.
To unify these factions, Kai drafts a Bill of Rights, forming the United Forest Alliance with himself as Chancellor, while romantic tension simmers with the rescued lion warrior Hugo. But a scheming human King plots to harvest Kai's life force for immortality, and Demon Lord Nova descends as the Alliance braces for war.
