Synopsis

Riley Trapper has always loved the wilderness.

Not because it was peaceful.

Because it was honest.

A forest doesn't lie to you. Hunger doesn't care about your excuses. Survival rewards preparation and punishes arrogance.

When Riley awakens in Tamuel, a world where ancient gods still walk, monsters rule vast stretches of untamed land, and magic is carved into the soul through personal sacrifice, he finds the one thing Earth could never offer him:

A frontier that still exists.

As much as he would love to spend his life exploring the wilds and getting to know the nature of this world, politics and the more annoying parts of civilization tend to find him even in the most remote of regions. Though perhaps he should have just avoided the strange temple in the middle of nowhere and what laid sealed away within it.
