Lin Fan was a small-town mechanic with a dropped-out engineering degree and a habit of talking to himself while he worked. Not the kind of person destined for greatness — not that he ever wanted to be.

Then he touched a strange metal rod in his uncle's workshop, woke up under a sky that wasn't Earth's, and discovered a System that let him break things down and put them back together.
