HUMAN FAIRY AND A MOUSE
Synopsis
Theft of tomatoes has been occurring, carried out by a pack of wild rats. This leaves Eduardo—a young boy from the village of Berguiss, who happens to be friends with a Fairy living inside a book kept in his family’s attic—searching for a solution. He decides to make an agreement with the rats, hoping to put an end to their raids on the villagers’ tomato crops.
One morning, while helping his father check the rat traps set in their family’s tomato garden, Eduardo finds a lone rat named Milian caught in one of the traps. With help from Isabelle the Fairy, and through Milian’s account of the rats’ homeland, the Kingdom of Mousentada, Eduardo learns the true story behind the large-scale tomato thefts that the villagers have come to regard as a plague. Guided by Milian and a few of his fellow rats, Eduardo embarks on an adventure unlike anything he has ever experienced before.
Along the way, readers will encounter wonderful magic conjured by the Fairy, deep bonds of friendship, hidden schemes, unexpected plot twists, and even the complex system of government that rules over the rats. In the end, a brilliant resolution is reached.
