Some people are chosen to go on a pilgrimage; a highly personal journey with a singular goal. Those who are chosen vanish on the spot, spirited away to a place to be tested. For those who complete their Pilgrimage, they return a few days later with a selection of superpowers that reflect their Pilgrim's journey. Those who fail are never seen again.

Unfortunately, she came back without her memories, her instincts, or even an understanding of what it means to be human.

Armed with the ability to consume consciousness and steal the forms of living creatures, she must piece together an identity from the fragments of other lives.

But through the perspective of an eldritch monster who has no concept of preserving life, what does it actually mean to be human?

A dark fantasy superhero story about identity, humanity, eldritch horror, found family, and the small comforts that make us who we are.

Heavily inspired by aspects of Katalepsis. The first chapter is a testament to that! If you've read it, you'll know. One chapter in particular (if you know you know- no spoilers) inspired Valerie, the character, and the entirety of this story sprouted from there.

One last note- this is my first ever project like this! I've been writing fanfiction and roleplaying / collaborative writing for many many years, but this is the first time I'm sharing something like this publicly!
