Evan Randall was an ordinary oncology nurse in Minneapolis, working brutal double shifts to pay his father’s medical bills. Until a car hits him and he wakes up in the magical ruins of a strange new world.

Evan discovers his life is now governed by the Ledger, a magical system of Ranks, Attributes, and Skills. 
Gifted with a mythical Celestial affinity, a perk so rare it paints a target on his back, and the unique ability to regenerate mana much faster than anyone else, he sets out to explore a world filled with magic, monsters, and exciting adventures.

Adventure isn’t all that awaits him. The Blight, a magical disease that turns ordinary creatures into mana-consuming monsters, is a constant threat, and when whole village populations vanish without a trace, Evan soon realizes monsters might not even be the worst danger of this new world.
