Synopsis

Hunter Planet Pretender

"He went to Dirt a pretender. He came back something else entirely."

Andy Septik has opinions about hunting.

Strong ones. Loud ones. The kind you share enthusiastically with your coworkers when you've never once held a weapon, slept rough, or been in any danger more serious than a long queue at the Galaxy Express Tunnel.

So when his employer rewards five years of perfect attendance with a fully-paid ticket to hunt on Dirt - a primitive little planet the locals inexplicably call "Earth" - Andy does what any self-proclaimed expert would do.

He goes.

It does not go well.

Now he's back home, a year late, considerably more splotchy than he left, and sitting across from a Federation Internal Affairs agent and a talking London pigeon who want to know exactly what happened down there.

The problem is, Andy isn't sure anyone will believe him.

Hunter Planet Pretender is a comedic sci-fi adventure told from the wrong end of the food chain — where the "hunter" is hopelessly out of his depth, Earth is far stranger and more dangerous than the brochure suggested, and one ordinary alien's bad life choices somehow become the Federation's problem.

****

Hunter Planet Pretender is set in the world of Hunter Planet - the original Australian Table Top Roleplaying game, currently launched on Kickstarter until the end of June.

What to expect:

A humorous story about a mix of the good, the bad and the stupid from a galaxy-spanning Federation of Planets when it discovers and clashes with the good, the bad and the stupid people and creatures of Earth.

No mature content, strong language or graphic violence.

Lots of world building with development of the Main Character, Andy Septik, a braggart that pretends to be a hunter, and ends up becoming a real one.

Happy for comments and feedback.

Feel free to share and if you enjoy the book, you will enjoy the roleplaying game on which it is based, Hunter Planet.

A note about spelling:

The cover probably gave it away, but this story uses Australian spelling, weights and measures and some light Australian slang.
