Runic Magic

Eryx Sennin is an ordinary young man, which is most unfortunate for him as he lives in a quite extraordinary world. Jado is a world of magic and those that have magic are the ones that hold all the power. Those without magic are relegated to second class citizens and are not even protected by the law.

Jado is home to numerous magical races and beasts of myth. Mages, wizards, sorcerers, witches, the branches human magic are ancient and diverse. In addition to the human race there are also the sidhe and the anmiagan among others, as well many varieties of dragons and phoenixes.

Despite being tested to have no magic potential when he was young, Eryx, on his eighteenth birthday, is setting out to the magic guilds of his city to try and be tested one last time. What he discovers on his way is a forgotten and forbidden field of magic that by learning and reviving, will no doubt upend the entire world.

What to Expect

Release Rate/Chapter Length – Normal releases every Monday. Bonus chapters (as available) Wednesday and Friday. Expect chapter lengths to be around 2,000 words I don’t intend to police myself on length but expect them to mostly be around there. I’m going slower on this book, but I do one project at a time, so this work will finish, even if I get fed up and kill off the MC to finish (just kidding).

Anti-hero lead – our MC will do whatever he has to in order to achieve his goals. In the eyes of some, his actions might be considered evil, but he is simply doing what he must to become powerful and survive. His moral compass points towards the path to power.

Weak to Strong – the MC will be pretty weak starting out and is set on finding ways to become strong.

World Building – Story is set in a fantasy world of magic with a rich history. Expect steady growth of the world as our MC goes to new places in search of ways to make himself stronger.

Third Person POV – we will be sticking with our MC most of the time, but there will be occasional shifts to follow other characters to further the plot for a short time, perspective will remain Third Person POV throughout.

Romance/Harem – There will be some romantic plotlines in this story (no harems), but the MC is mostly going to be a self-centered individual seeking his own power, don’t expect him to be saving any damsels, unless there is something in it for him.

Adult Content –There will be themes and interactions of a mature nature. I’m not writing a smut, but I won’t be pulling any punches either.

Profanity - While there will be profanity, I dislike using/reading profanity, so it won’t be much, but it will be used when appropriate for the character/situation.

Violence – This a given. As a fantasy novel about a world of magic with our MC learning a field of magic no one wants him to know, he is going to run into trouble. Expect action packed fights, magical and physical, as well as the MC doing whatever he must to become powerful.
