Synopsis

In the dead land they call the Deathless, survival is a struggle against a bizarre, noxious miasma that has come to be called the "XenoHaze".

A mysterious phenomenon resulting from the fallout of an otherwise unknown calamity that broke the world centuries ago. Forgotten in the ruination that ensured from the destruction wrought.

The XenoHaze has continued to spread across the Deathless for centuries, saturating it in hazardous mutagenic storms of haze that induce startling and harrowing transformations in plant, mineral, animal and all things within the fabric of reality.

These mutations give rise to countless varieties of entities as that which is affected by the HazeStorms undergo ongoing metamorphosis.

Of such beings, one above all strikes terror in the hearts of all who strive to rebuild civilization in the wasteland.

Hazeghouls.

Terrible malformations of the dead that fail to rest. Having lost all sense of reasoning, they have become feral, violent monstrosities that hunt all life unlike itself with absolute hostility.

Hazestalkers.

Those who can resist and overcome the malformative effects of the XenoHaze and through that exertion of will, come into the possession of otherworldly power.

Able to not only survive, but thrive within the Deathless. They inspire love and fear, for they have the ability to harness the XenoHaze to astounding effect. Through various means seeking to increase the potency of the mutagenic essence that flows in their veins.

To gain strength, each Hazestalker must risk the loss of their self dominion. They are always at hazard of devolving into yet another mutant monster wandering the wasteland.

Y'rand, the Cougan, is one such Hazestalker.

A man who revels in the taste of the thrill of adventure, and wanders to refine his own power to its apex. That he might find the answers to personal mysteries that he is seeking.

While out there in the Deathless, other beings come to see what flows in his wake as an answer, a question, and a problem to which they must find a solution...
