The world didn’t end in fire.

It failed system by system.

Power grids collapsed. Supply chains vanished. Entire regions went dark as the infrastructure holding civilization together broke apart faster than anyone could repair it. Months later, isolated settlements survive however they can—through fuel scavenging, improvised repairs, and fragile trade routes stretching across a fractured landscape.

Kevin never expected to become responsible for any of it.

All he wanted was to keep the farm running through winter: maintain the greenhouse, keep the circulation systems running, and make sure the people who depended on him didn’t freeze when the roads failed again.

Then the buried systems beneath the farm woke up.

Hidden under collapsing barns and frozen fields lies a forgotten stabilization node connected to something far larger than a local utility network. Strange maintenance prompts begin appearing in Kevin’s vision. Ancient conduit systems pulse beneath the ground. Failing settlements across the region start to depend on infrastructure that nobody fully understands anymore.

As fuel shortages spread and surviving groups fight over the few functioning roads, Kevin and those around him are drawn into a growing regional crisis in which heat, water, and stable systems matter more than laws ever did.

Because the network beneath the farm is still active and somewhere far beyond the isolated settlements and dying trade routes, other parts of it may be waking up too.

Stabilization Node is a grounded post-collapse survival story focused on infrastructure, settlement-building, regional politics, and a slow-burning mystery. Expect practical problem-solving, evolving relationships, harsh winters, convoy tensions, and the gradual discovery of a continental system still struggling to function beneath the ruins of civilization.
